Sigh… Eight years ago on this very day, 685 miles from here, I married my best friend. I am so blessed to have found such a supportive, loving, kind, funny, handsome, smart guy.
I’ve had weddings on the brain lately. My coworker just got married and she wore my veil. It’s made me think back to when I got married and how exciting and fun it was. What it felt like to be starting our new life together. That there were so many things yet to come. In many ways it’s making this anniversary extra special. We know each other better and have more life experience, but there’s adventure yet to come. Places to go, people to see, things to do. Together.
I just can’t believe it’s been eight years. That seems like a long time. Almost 25% of my life has been spent with my husband. Yikes! I just don’t feel old enough for that to be the case. But maybe it’s a good thing it doesn’t feel that long; time flies when you’re having fun. And it has been fun. Marriage is work, definitely, and every day isn’t sunshine and daisies. But most days are and for that I am grateful. There’s no one I’d rather had beside me during the tough times, and no one that I’d rather be with to share successes.
So to my dear, sweet Bill, there’s nothing I’d change about you (except maybe your paper management skills).
There’s no one I’d rather come home to (except maybe CJ).
There’s no one I’d rather be sarcastic to.
I wouldn’t trade in a moment of the last 10 1/2 years and I look forward to our future.
Who knows how long I’ve loved you
You know I love you still
Will I wait a lonely lifetime
If you want me to, I will
from I Will, the Beatles, sung by our friend at our wedding eight years ago today

About Me
Welcome to my spot on the web where I talk about needlework, crafts, and [many] other random things.
A few tidbits about me: I met my husband in college, flirting over tuba letters in the Penn Band. Our dog, CJ, and our cat, Sabrina, round out our family. I'm a sewist, knitter and needlepointer, and an occasional scrapbooker. I love organizing, reading, making jewelry, and hiking. A Chicago girl at heart, I am an avid follower the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
You can email me at mlynapier [at] pobox [dot] com. Thank you for stopping by!
My Etsy Shop
A place for me to sell my handmade goods. My style? It's fun and funky with a hint of romance.

Margaret is actually just under 25% of her life with me. As she pointed out, I am actually at a little over 25% of my life with her.
