I feel like that’s been my title of late, at least on the home front. Queen of Everything, Expert at Nothing. The weekend was best categorized as a little bit of everything. Friday night I relaxed and worked on some scrap paper notebooks, cut some fabric, read, relaxed. I couldn’t figure out what I wanted to do, so I did a little of everything. Saturday was much the same way. It started out with a walk in 90 degree heat and that just took a lot out of me. I relaxed, worked on my dresser, ate, watched the Cubs, took a nap, read, and went to see Indiana Jones (Yay!). Sunday was a repeat. More reading, picking up, needlepoint, nap, Cubs… There was some knitting at one point… Maybe it was restlessness. Regardless, the weekend went by quickly and I did find it restful.
I’m getting ready for a shop update on Tuesday, June 17th. I am working on 2 bags in this style, some coaster sets, lots of necklaces and whatever else I can get done. Check it out if you can get a chance.
Also, I have to share a funny story from today. I had a very important work meeting this afternoon. I’m sitting in the first row with four of my colleagues, behind my supervisor, boss and other important work people. I’m paying attention to the meeting, balancing my work papers on my lap, and the next thing I see is a spider coming down from the ceiling about two feet from my boss’ head and about 3 feet in front of me. I am not a fan of spiders and am trying not to freak out. My coworkers (all girls) see it too. My friend to my left whispers loudly to a male coworker behind us “Do you see the spider?” “Yes, I see it.” “Do something!” No response. What was he going to do, vault over my seat to knock it down? So now I have totally forgotten that there is an important meeting going on, my full attention is on this ugly, definitely poisonous spider. I watch it go up its little thread, down, up, hang out, up, and then it falls to the floor and starts towards us to which there is a gasp and 8 sandaled feet being pulled off the floor. Then it starts to head away from us and toward our supervisor. My friend to the left, puts down her notebooks, gets on her hands and knees with one of her shoes in hand, and practically crawls under the table our supervisor is sitting at, and hits at the spider three times. My supervisor, completely oblivious to the emergency, whispers loudly “Suzie, No, NO.” And Suzie whispers back, “yes, YES!” and the whole time the three of us still sitting in the front row are trying not to lose it. Thankfully 75% of the people at the meeting had no idea what was going on and we eventually got back to paying attention at the meeting. But did we laugh about it afterward.

About Me
Welcome to my spot on the web where I talk about needlework, crafts, and [many] other random things.
A few tidbits about me: I met my husband in college, flirting over tuba letters in the Penn Band. Our dog, CJ, and our cat, Sabrina, round out our family. I'm a sewist, knitter and needlepointer, and an occasional scrapbooker. I love organizing, reading, making jewelry, and hiking. A Chicago girl at heart, I am an avid follower the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
