Knitting Up A Storm
November 19, 2009
That’s what I’ve been doing. No time to blog with all the knitting going on. I’m going to call September the month of the shawl, October the month of the sweater, and November the month of small projects. I’m planning on December being the month of the afghan.
I knit three shawls in September, one Ishbel and two Springtime Bandits. Both are great patterns and knit up fast. And the Springtime Bandit is FREE!!! Unfortunately, I don’t have any pictures of these beauties yet.
In October, my mom and I started a knit along of the Monday Morning Cardigan. I worked on it a lot and it still took me a month to finish, but it was worth it. This is my first sweater. Again, no pictures. Mom is still working on hers but I’m hoping that her seeing mine will be a good motivator for her.
After I finished my sweater, I started working on some smaller projects. I knit a beret for myself. I’ve seen some great beret patterns and saw some beautiful yarn and I couldn’t resist any longer. The beret photographed is the Porom beret. Love it! I’m worried that it has a little too much slouch and that with my short hair it might look a little ridiculous. But oh well. I like it. I’m also doing some gift knitting. Tis the season!
The weather has cooled off and I’m looking forward to pulling out an afghan I started two years ago. That’s my December project. And it would be nice to finish up the Lizard Ridge Afghan.
We’ll see how it goes.

About Me
Welcome to my spot on the web where I talk about needlework, crafts, and [many] other random things.
A few tidbits about me: I met my husband in college, flirting over tuba letters in the Penn Band. Our dog, CJ, and our cat, Sabrina, round out our family. I'm a sewist, knitter and needlepointer, and an occasional scrapbooker. I love organizing, reading, making jewelry, and hiking. A Chicago girl at heart, I am an avid follower the Cubs, Bears, and Blackhawks.
You can email me at mlynapier [at] pobox [dot] com. Thank you for stopping by!
